Safe and Sound Dorset support women who are isolated or at risk in their community, encouraging social inclusion, responsibility and personal choice. They aim to build confidence through creativity and community. They run creative community sessions, a coffee lounge community hub and a Ukranian Women’s Welcome Group. Outreach takes place on the streets around Boscombe and Bournemouth, talking to vulnerable girls who are homeless, sofa surfing, working on the streets or straight out of prison. Those encountered are offered food, clothing, rape alarms, a shower and laundry facilities. They are signposted to support services and encouraged to participate in weekly sessions providing ongoing community inclusion, support with appointments and creative art opportunities.
